Morning as ritual : an opportunity to start over.

Mornings are the most important moment in the day.

I feel enormous love for mornings, but for so many people mornings can be a chore or something to not look forward to or a moment where all the energy zapps.

For me and so many others, the key to well-being and a successful morning flow has been to stay away from my phone until being able to finish a basic well-being circuit.

Mornings are intimate, private a moment to cherish and respect.

The second thing I do is clean my tongue with an ayurvedic tongue scraper followed by a big glass of fresh water, then I do something I called a purification journal, a tool that comes from Julia Cameron in her book The Artist’s Way, in which I put all my dreams and sometimes troubling thoughts or a big to-do list.

most of the time no coffee for this gal. I love homemade iced matcha with coconut milk + Lion’s Mane and collagen.

When I do drink coffee I like it black with ghee and a dollop of organic grass-fed milk.

Expose yourself to the sunlight and move your body.

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, I try different things. I like protein and savory breakfast but this Bircher Bowl by Amy Chaplin was a great way to start the day, I love her cookbook.

This photo journal was shot while living in the Presidio in San Francisco, a perfect balance of indoor and outdoor.

Trail with Lucy -Ann and Sienna, finished with a beautiful bright lunch made by yours truly and a night to myself chanting mantras and doing gentle pranayam.

Love and Light,

Eka Tamara Maria
