Intuitive, Nourishing, Medicinal: a way of living, a way of eating.
At the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, a pillar is a proverb: one man’s meat is one man’s poison.
This is key to being able to talk about food.
Food is sacred for everyone and as health educators, we must embrace openness and be flexible. Understanding geography is essential and comes back to simple ways of eating and preparing food.
The main axis for my own nutrition is the impact our diet has on the environment, naturally, our diet should not have such a negative impact. Learning how to eat and cook is vital in the modern world and is perhaps one of the most revolutionary acts we could do as human beings in 2022.
As an Integrative Nutrition coach, my research has been profoundly influenced by Dr. Mark Hyman, Sally Fallon, author of the book, Nourishing Traditions, the book that challenges politically correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats, Michael Pollan with the Omnivores Dilemma, In Defense of Food and Cooked which is also a docuseries that one must watch for history. all of this and the science of yoga and ayurveda is what encompass my practice and my life.
another big influence is the Karma Free Diet.
Before introducing myself to eating for joy and connection.I had a wonderful experience working in Montreal with chef Fisun Ercan, growing vegetables to work with at her restaurant Su, now Bika Farm to later join Mica y Lalo in Mexico with her beautiful project of regenerative agricultural farm-to-table experiences.
My relationship with food has become a lifeline. I have become a purist and a true naturalist.
I see how each ingredient, from fruit, vegetable, seed, nut, fish, and herb, to fermented products and homemade gourmet products has nutritional and medicinal value and properties.
